And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Stand-by), that He may remain with you forever (John 14:16 AMP).
The tremendous miracles,
signs and wonders recorded in our Ministry, and the extraordinary impact we
make around the world with the Gospel are in no ways by human efforts. They are
the works of the Spirit of God.
In John 14:16, Jesus said, "...I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter that he may
abide with you forever." Notice that He said "another Comforter"; that is
because He was the Comforter. However, knowing He did ascend to heaven after His
death, burial, and resurrection, He said to the disciples "I will not leave you
comfortless: I will come to you" (John 14:18). The Greek word for "comfortless" is "orphanos," from where the English word "orphan" is derived. The Amplified
version rightly renders it: "I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless,
desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you."
You are not helpless. The
Holy Spirit will make you successful in all things if you’d yield to Him and
trust Him with your life. He will make you an effective witness of the Gospel.
The Master instructed the disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they were filled
with the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49), because He knew they needed the divine
enablement to accomplish the task of making disciples of the nations (Matthew
28:19). Hence, after they received the Holy Spirit, they became effective
witnesses and preached the Gospel with miracles, signs, and wonders.
In Acts 19, we read how
the Apostle Paul affected the city of Ephesus with the gospel; as a result, the
Word of God grew mightily and prevailed in a region that was hitherto dominated
by idolatry (read Acts 19:11-20).
You become a man or woman of great influence and impact when you learn to live by and through the Spirit. He is your secret of success. With Him, you are certain to make a lasting impact in ministry, business, academics, or any aspect of your life.
