THE LIFE-GIVING SPIRIT

There’s a sharp contrast between ordinary existence and divine life—and 1 Corinthians 15:45 captures it brilliantly. The Apostle Paul reveals a profound truth: humanity didn’t just begin with Adam; it was redefined through Christ.

Understanding this difference isn’t just theology—it defines your identity, purpose, and the kind of life you’re meant to live. If you still see yourself as “just human,” you’ve missed the upgrade entirely..

THE FIRST ADAM: A LIVING SOUL
The Bible records in Genesis 2:7 that God breathed into Adam, and he became a living soul. That sounds impressive—until you realize that’s where it stops. Adam received life, but he wasn’t a distributor of it..
Those born after Adam inherit that same limitation:.
• Governed by natural instincts
• Driven by self-preservation and earthly desires
• Dependent on external sources for life
In simple terms: alive, yes—but not exactly overflowing.

THE LAST ADAM: A LIFE-GIVING SPIRIT
Then comes Jesus Christ—the “last Adam.” According to 1 Corinthians 15:45, He is not just alive; He is a life-giving Spirit. That’s an entirely different category. Christ doesn’t just have life—He imparts it. And here’s what many people overlook: if you’re born again, you’re born after Him, not Adam.

That means:
• You don’t merely contain life—you transmit it
• Your nature is not earthly but heavenly
• Your existence isn’t passive—it’s impactful
So no, you’re not here just to survive and pay bills. That would be… underwhelming.

YOUR HEAVENLY IDENTITY
Paul takes it further in 1 Corinthians 15:47–48—those who are born of the heavenly Man are themselves heavenly. This isn’t future talk; it’s a present reality. Add 1 John 4:17: “As He is, so are we in this world.” Not later. Not eventually. Now.

And just in case that still sounds abstract, Philippians 3:20 makes it even clearer—your citizenship is in heaven. So while you may physically reside on earth, your origin, authority, and identity are divine.
If your nature is like Christ’s, then your life should reflect it:

• Your words carry power and life (see John 6:63)
• You express love, righteousness, and divine authority
• You influence your environment instead of being shaped by it This is where many people get it wrong—they claim a heavenly identity but live with earthly limitations.

That contradiction needs to be corrected. The difference between the first Adam and the last Adam is the difference between having life and giving life. Through Christ, you’ve been elevated from a mere living soul to a life-giving spirit. So the real question is: are you living like it, or just agreeing with it? Because once you understand who you are, playing small becomes inexcusable.

PRAYER OF SALVATION
If you’re not born again, we invite you to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life by praying:

“O Lord God, I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. I believe He died for me, and God raised Him from the dead. I believe He is alive today. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and in His Name, I have eternal life; I am born again. Thank You, Lord, for saving my soul! I am now a child of God. Hallelujah!”

Congratulations! You are now a child of God.
